The rich colours of this kiln-fused bowl were created by elevating art glass in the kiln, heating to a temperature of 1600F and then allowing gravity and molten glass to work together to produce gorgeous puddles of blues, greens and yellows.
The bright smooth texture on the top of the bowl is the heat-exposed side of the glass, and the lovely rough texture on the back is glass making contact with the ceramic mold used to shape it.
